Where can I buy rosé cider?
You can buy rosé cider from cider makers' own shops and websites, from specialist cider shops and bottle shops, and at cider festivals and bars. Supermarkets often stock pink ciders too. Read the label: some rosé ciders get their colour from red-fleshed apples, while others are flavoured with added fruit such as berries.

Key facts
- Two kinds of rosé. The BJCP 2025 cider guidelines note that red-fleshed apples such as Redfield "will give a blush or rosé hue". [1] Other pink ciders are coloured and flavoured with fruit such as berries; how each is made is covered in what rosé cider is.
- UK classification. In the UK, a product only counts as cider if nothing that adds colour or flavour is used other than permitted substances, and permitted colourings may only give "straw, gold and golden brown" shades. A cider flavoured with an ingredient outside the permitted list is taxed as another fermented product instead. [2]
- No legal term. Neither "rosé cider" nor "pink cider" is a defined legal category in the UK, so the name alone does not tell you how the drink was made. [2]
Where can I buy rosé cider?
- From the makers. Many craft cider makers sell their rosé directly from a farm shop or their own web shop. Start with makers near you and check each maker's website.
- Specialist shops. Cider shops and bottle shops usually stock a wider range of rosé and fruit ciders than supermarkets; see where to buy craft cider in the UK for UK options.
- Festivals and bars. Rosé ciders are a common pour at cider festivals and bars, which is a good way to taste before buying a bottle.
- Online. Makers' web shops and specialist online retailers are covered in where to buy cider online.
How can I tell a red-fleshed apple rosé from a flavoured one?
Check the ingredients list: an apple-only rosé names red-fleshed apples, while a flavoured one lists other fruit or flavourings. How each kind is made, and whether rosé cider is sweet, is covered in what rosé cider is and the glossary entries for rosé cider and fruit cider.

Questions
Is pink cider the same as rosé cider?
Usually the two names are used for the same kind of product. Neither name is defined in UK duty law, so the label and ingredients list tell you whether the colour comes from apples or from added fruit or colour. [2]
