Where can I buy craft cider in the UK?
The most direct way to buy UK craft cider is from the people who make it: at the farm or through their online shop. Cider festivals, specialist shops and pubs are the other main routes. There is no legal definition of "craft" cider in the UK, so read the label and ask the maker how it is made.

How do I find craft cider in the UK?
- Pick a region. Start with the cider counties: Somerset (41 makers), Herefordshire (30), Devon (18), Kent (13) and Gloucestershire (8), as of 2026-10-02. Or browse all UK regions.
- Open a maker's profile and follow it to the maker's own website. That is where you'll find their shop and opening times.
- Know the legal baseline. There is no legal definition of "craft" cider in the UK. For duty, cider needs only at least 35% apple or pear juice, and that juice may come from concentrate. [1] That is why some drinkers look for "real" or full-juice cider (see below).
- Look for protected names. Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire Cider and Perry, plus Traditional Welsh Cider and Traditional Welsh Perry, are Protected Geographical Indications (PGI); Somerset Cider Brandy is a PGI too. [2] [3] [4] [5]
- Buy legally: in the UK it is against the law to sell alcohol to anyone under 18. [6]
Where can I buy real cider in the UK?
CAMRA's campaign definition says real cider and perry "should never be concentrated then diluted – either in terms of the juice used, or the alcohol content". [7] CAMRA keeps a searchable directory of real cider and perry producers, which leads to their farm shops and websites. [8] Many of them are in the western cider counties; see where cider is made in England.
